How dependent are you?

When people say that they’re totally dependent on God, I wonder if they really mean it, or even have an idea what they’re talking about.
To me, being dependent is to realize your inability to function without the help of who you depend on, like a phone without a battery or a car without fuel.
Living a dependent life has made me become more thankful, because then you realize that even the smallest things (like a smile), or things we really don’t take too seriously (like praising or worshiping God) happen only by His permission.
Although at first it doesn’t seem so pleasant, when the results begin to unfold, it’s like the best experience that you could ever have and then just like any habit, you become addicted and it’s impossible to kick, cause sincerely, it’s the perfect habit ever.
I believe without God’s permission, I’ll be like a machine without any functioning power.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: For without me ye can do nothing. John 15:5
If you believe this too, then maybe just like me, there cannot be a you without God.
